245. Beef & Potato Soup

After the heavy food at the wedding reception I attended at Mega hotel last night, I felt like eating something hot and soupy today.

I have lots of red meat in the freezer so I made 'Beef & Potato Soup'. This is easy to cook and I am sure everybody knows how :)

My ready homemade 'Beef & Potato Soup'

Slice the red meat into thin and small slices. Wash, sieve and leave to drip dry.
Boil some water (how much soup I want) in a pot over a fire.
When boiled, add in the meat.
Add in grounded garlic (4 pieces), 1 small red onion, 2" ginger.
Let the meat become tender.
Skin 4 potatoes, slice into small square cubes and add into the beef soup.
When both potatoes & meat are soft, add in salt and ajinomoto to taste.
Add white pepper.

You notice I do not add any local 'rempah'. It is because my children don't like them :)

Aya said she will make 'Anchovies Sambal Belacan' and boil some cut long beans to eat with.

So, we had my soup and her 'sambal' for lunch today.

Cheerio.
