I eat it raw, peeled and cooled from the fridge. I cooked it with my ikan 'Asam Pedas'. I cooked it with ikan 'Salai', make chutney or make it into something simple like this 'Kerabu Nenas'.
Kerabu Nenas
To prepare, it's very simple :-
Peeled the skin, cut away all the 'mata' of a moderate sized ripe pineapple.
Chop and cut into small slices.
Put aside.
Ground 3 red chillies and 7 cili padi (very hot small red chillies).
Add in 2 tablespoon belacan (shrimp paste).
Add in 2 teaspoon sugar.
Half a cup of anchovies (ground lightly).
Mix all these grounded ingredients into the cut pineapple.
Add a bit of salt to taste.
Cool in the fridge.
Eat as a side dish with rice or by itself.
Cheerio.

U and my mum can be best friend. She loves pineapple too and can eat that fruits everyday. haha....
ReplyDeleteShe cooked with asam pedas too. But I don't like pineapples. They always 'bite' my tongue.
I love durians but dislike pineapples, onnly thing is that even though I dislike pineapples, I can still eat pineapples if there is nothing else to eat.,.....hehehehe.
ReplyDeleteI lobe air nenas sejuk...pineapple cut into small cubes, boil few minutes (to get the juice), add syrup and drink it cool. Nice on a warm day.
ReplyDeleteBest friend, he he...
ReplyDeletemNhL, I wish she is near my place :p
Yes, nice to cook with asam pedas.
I prefer the 'Sarikei' pineapple rather than the big ones, which I called 'nenas paun', the 'Sarikei' pineapple which are smaller, are more sweeter and don't bite the tongue :)
'if there is nothing else to eat' LOL..
ReplyDeleteReally Alice, I don't know why I love these 2 local fruits, imagine..I can eat them until my stomach gets bloated ha ha ...
