184. Last Day in KK

We stayed 3 nights and 4 days at Best Western Kinabalu Daya Hotel and each morning we have breakfast free at the Hunter's Lounge. I've no complaint about other things, the people at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, but I got a little bored eating 'Bubur Nasi' & 'Nasi Lemak' every morning. They can change these two to 'Laksa Sarawak' or 'Nasi Goreng' with some 'Ulam'. That would be nice :) But there were lots and lots of eggs though, and you can ask the chef to cook it in any way you like, scrambled, omellette or 'Mata Lembu' style.

We had a chance too to sit and eat at 'Sugar Bun Cafe' in KK. It's clean and a nice place to sit around.

Not forgetting to take pictures there too...lol..

2 things I can't find anywhere else except in Kota Kinabalu are these :-

Aya & Noormy bought this Japanese food (maybe I can find it in Japan? :p called 'Japanese Boat Tekiyaki' at 'Wisma Merdeka'. I find it delicious. RM2.80 per boat.

And the other one, look at this almost like popcorn balls, self made by a lady who lives in Tawau. It taste nice and sells plenty at the KK wet market. This is called 'Keropok Amplang' RM10.00 per packet.

183. Ikan Bakar & Bakso in KK

Ikan Bakar, you can sit there to eat it.

What I remember well when visiting Kota Kinabalu was eating it's famous 'Ikan Bakar' at the night market. We went to that spot on our last night in KK, and I never regretted it. I was able to taste my favourite dish 'Bakso' too and it tasted delicious plus they are not stingy with their 'Cabi Pipis'(grounded chillies to eat with the bakso).

We (myself, Aya & Noormy) tapau our fish and squid ( did you see how big it was?) to the hotel to eat. Both costs RM18 each.

We ate Bakso at this stall which sells drinks. And the Bakso sells cheap, only RM3 per bowl.

182. Do You Remember?

Do you remember this quite popular movie called 'The Karate Kid'? Well, I think I have seen it many times on tv. Today the karate kid has grown up. His name is Ralph Macchio, he discusses a remake of the 1984 movie that turned him into a teen idol.

181. First Day in KK

We arrived Miri airport last night around 9.30pm.

In this post I am going to talk about our first day in KK, and that was last Thursday.

In the afternoon of our first day in KK I decided to visit the much talked big mall which was very new and only opened for a month.

It is called the '1 BORNEO'. It was enormoursly large even larger than the Miri Bintang Mega Mall. It has a cinemaplex with 8 halls. Huge. It also has a 'Terminal' for game machines. The rest are lots of shops & eateries.
