425. Short Stay In KK

This is a late post. But Mak isah wish to share the pictures :)
The short stay was 1Nov - 3rd Nov this month.

Alif excited at the same time a little scared hearing the sounds of the plane we were in.

A few minutes later he was asleep.

Wisma Merdeka shopping complex right next to the hotel we were staying.

Staying in a 'Family Suite' room.

I don't know why Noormy & Aya like this food.

Having 'Bakso' in the evening.

We walked as well and sometimes took a taxi.
A Robot shop, some for show and some for sale.

Hi from Mak isah :D

Breakfast at the hotel, had to wake up early.

Alif doesn't eat early in the morning.

Initially, going with 3 bags but coming home with 5 .

Waiting to board the plane.

Alif saying bye to the plane when landed back in Miri.

Mak isah did not spend much other than eating but the girls spent their money on clothes. Aya bought 5 jackets with hoods, Noormy & Zu bought t shirts & pants. I asked why buy them in KK? They said what they bought there they can't find in Miri. So no chance of bumping onto someone using the same clothes that they have.

Isshh..masuk akal tak?

Thanks for sharing these pictures with me :D

424. Greetings!

Asalamualaikum!

Mak isah sure all of you are looking forward to the weekend :) Yes, especially for those of you who are working ya? But, for Mak isah..it is a weekend each day he he...

For example like today, it's a weekday but I went out the whole afternoon, not a worry to have to sit in the office, be in a meeting or be at a counter to serve customers like I used to in the old days...A'aahhh what a bliss!

Going out today.., it was nothing much. It was only having an afternoon tea at Noormy's favorite hangout called 'Warung Puteri'. I think I talked about this shop here in my previous post.

As in that post, I also sent my car to be washed while sitting in the shop.

Myself, Noormy, Zu and Alif my grandson went there to eat these...

These were chopped hot fried chicken wings & fried 'Cucur Sayur', Noormy, Zu & Alif's favorites.

And these are my favorites, fried sliced tauhu & fried 'Cucur Keladi' (Yam)

They taste delicious dipped into these chilli sauce mixed with blended groundnuts

To avoid having no table to sit and not enough of the items we wanted we made sure we were at the shop between 3 to 4pm because by 3pm all the food were just fried and we can choose whatever we want to eat. After 4pm there will be a lot of office people going there to have their drinks before going back home.

In other words if you go there after 4pm or late you will be waiting to queue up with the others to get serve OR most of the items fried have finished.

Almost every afternoons the shop are packed with people.

We were home at 630pm.

423. Off Days

I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!

I am flying to KK later in the morning and will be staying at Best Western Kota kinabalu Hotel for a couple of days.

I like staying at this hotel. Situated at Jalan Pantai, it is convenient as it is just next door to the shops, pharmacy as well as the shopping complex. And the hotel staff are friendly, very helpful and these made me feel at home there.

Have any of you stayed there? Try it :) And the hotel rooms are affordable for people like Mak isah :D

I am not going alone, the 3 girls and myself ( ladies) and Alif (my grandson) have booked ourselves a family suite.

So, again, the men (hubby, my son and SIL (son in law) have to stay home in Miri and looked after our house.

The Ladies' off days LOL..

See you again next week!

422. Sambal Belacan

Macam2 cara nak buat 'Sambal Belacan' Mak isah rasa...Yang ini Mak isah buat bila buat entri yang lepas sebab nak makan dengan Kari Kepala Ikan.

Dan Entri ni istimewa untuk blogger friend 'Luciana' because she asked me my 'Sambal Belacan' recipe he he... Thanks for asking my dear :D

Simple je...

1. 15 - 20 Cili Padi

2. 2 Sudu Besar Belacan (Shrimp Paste) * Belacan buat sendiri...hubby yang buat :)

3. Ground well ingredients 1. and 2. in a 'Lesung Batu'.

Lesung Batu

4. Slice 3 'Limau Kasturi' into 4 or more slices and add into the 'Lesung Batu'. Press lightly the juice and mix well.

Limau Kasturi

5. Serve with your other dishes.

P.S. If for 'Ulam' with young mangoes or others, usually I will add in more 'Belacan' and also some 'Ikan Bilis' or 'Pusu' (dry anchovies).

Wash the 'Ikan Bilis' and pound well with the 'Belacan'.

Usually if for 'Ulam' with mangoes, Mak isah will not add too much Cili Padi but more 'Belacan'. Then it will be nicer to eat and not so hot!
