403. Merisik

Yesterday 19th April was a Special Day for my youngest daughter Noormy.

It was her 'Majlis Merisik Day' :)

'Merisik' also means 'Bertekul' in Malay. It's a day when a boy send his parents or representatives or relative to a girl's house to ask if she would be his future fiancee and wife to be in life. A gold ring and some token of money will be given as soon as the girl agrees and a date for an engagement ceremony (Majlis Pertunangan) will be fixed.

That's what happened yesterday evening and even though it was a very small meeting between us, Mak isah was quite busy entertaining the guests then.

To my darling Noormy, Congrats & I love you.

Sharing these pictures of the simple ceremony to you dear friends :)

The boy's eldest sister putting a gold ring on Noormy's finger

Then giving Salam to her

Some money as a Token

The men looking upon - from left, Noormy's ayah angkat, Noormy's dad and the boy's brother in law

From right - Noormy's ibu angkat (she looked after Noormy when she was small) and in blue one of the boy's elder sister

And Mak isah ... happy to see Noormy happy :)

Love you all,
Mak isah
