Last night I was in bed in the dark. Just thinking.
I am 58 years old. I should be staying home enjoying doing what I like most. And what I like most would be keeping this house into a home. I don't really like going out with friends, I prefer going out alone, to the cinemaplex to watch movies, or just wandering around the few shopping complexes in my hometown. Beside that I enjoy driving, one reason why I want a car of my very own, a small car. Why small, because then I do not have to spend very much on petrol. I like eating at new places trying some new dishes too. And now I have started staying a night at Marriot & Spa just to chill out, drink my favourite wine.
How's that? Sounds crazy for a grandmother? he he he..

17. The Esplanage
I've been off blogging for almost 1 week over! Sorry. Most nights I had felt very tired and at daytime it was either going out during the weekend or looking after Alif during the weekdays. When I wanted to blog during the early evenings the server just wouldn't budge! I know, they are not good excuses but that's what happened. From now on I will try to blog as often as I can. I promise :)
Most of last week I drove to the Esplanage with Alif. During weekdays the place were quiet with a couple of stalls selling barbequed chicken wings or 'cucur pisang'. The view were still breathtaking though...

16. Valentine @Marriot & Spa
Today I came back from Marriot & Spa. I was surprised when Nono called me from the hotel on yesterday morning to let me know that the front desk people did booked me a room there for yesterday night. They told me on Friday that there was a high occupancy at the hotel. Anyway, so I spent Valentine night there.
I don't celebrate it but enjoyed the aura of the night. I drank white wine Penfolds Chardonnay vintage 2006 at BBC and all alone too! lol...but I can tell you... I really really enjoyed the atmosphere of that moment!
The view from from my room was fantastic! One side I could see the swimming pool and on my right I enjoyed the view of the ocean.
Have a look!
And here were some of the food that I ordered room service.
The Malaysian Breakfast consisting of 'Nasi Lemak'. This is rice cooked in coconut milk with traditional condiments of 'sambal', boiled eggs, anchovies, peanut with chicken or dhal vegetable curry, served with toasted bread with butter and hot chocolate.
This one I am not sure of the name but in short it's called 'Traditional E. Breakfast. These are poached eggs on toasted English muffins and turkey ham with hollandaise sauce.

15. Chill out
So, the Marriot & Spa has a very high occupancy for this weekend, I've just heard from Nono that her booking as associate not approved for the weekend.
I thought of going next weekend but Nono asked if I can go with her on the 1st March, she got a treat from a friend inviting me and her for a chill out night at the 'Matahari Pool' that day.
For the next weekend, I haven't decided yet. I'll give it a thought.

14. Sleeping
I slept and slept today, I don't know why...
I never sleep between the times 8pm till 10pm before but I did today. And then, after checking on Alif if the mother has put him to sleep in his own cot or not, and checking if the back doors at the kitchen were all locked, I began to feel sleepy again.
I wasn't doing much housework as the 2 girls Aya & Nono were off, in fact Aya did the cooking and Nono the vacuuming.
Beats me why I was feeling this sleepy, I just don't know.

13. A Valentine
For the last half an hour I've been reading other blogs. Almost every blog seem to be talking about how they are going to celebrate 'Valentine day'.
Here in Malaysia where there are many many kinds of festivals celebrated due to its many kind of races of people living in it, Valentine Day did not go unheeded. I am a Muslim but in a way I can feel the aura of the coming day on this Saturday the 14th February.
In my younger days, my impression of Valentine Day was a day of celebrating it with the one that you love, especially one's boyfriend or a girlfriend, one's husband or one's wife. Now as I grow older, I think it need not necessarily be those that I've mentioned above, but it can be anyone that you prefer to be with on that particular day.
I do not celebrate this day but it happened that this year 14 & 15 February this year falls on a Saturday and a Sunday. Well, I thought, what can be better than I spend a night in a hotel and just do nothing but sleep and eat? I am off from being a nanny to my grandson those 2 days!
2 hours ago I telephoned Nono my youngest daughter who works at Marriot & Spa to book me a room. Next I told my other 2 daughters of my plan. Suddenly Zu said she wanted to come along too. That means Alif her son, who is my grandson of 9 months will come along too.
Hmm... so gone will be my plan of having a quiet night I said to myself lol...
On the positive side, I said so why not? She wants to come why not let her? I guess she too want a break as well.
So the current plan is Zu will try to come off early from work on this Saturday so the 3 of us can drive early to check in at Marriot & Spa. Aya my third daughter who will be on leave then said she just want to stay home, so that should be okay with me too. She can be with me on the 12 & 13 February at home as she starts leave on the 12th.
So... I am crossing my fingers the plan will be okay.
I know it's a little early to wish but 'Happy Valentine' !

12. Fratinnis Pizza & Pasta
Today was a busy day for me. I drove down to town twice. One time to help send Zu's husband to the bus terminal and then a second time to fetch Zu from work in the evening. So Alif and I didn't have enough rest in the house.
Hopefully we both will stay longer in the house later :)
A friend told me Fratinnis pizza are nice. So I went to try it last Sunday morning. I am not really into eating pizzas so I tried the pasta, which was nice.
The pasta, 'Spageti alla Bolognese
And I drank one 'Milk Shake'
And I 'tapau' one pizza called 'Don Pablito'
These 3 items costs me RM62.90 including service charge.
There are 2 'Fratinnis Pizza' outlets in Miri. One near the Boulevard Complex and another new outlet at the Miri Centrepoint.
And in Sarawak you can only find Fratinnis pizzas in Miri, Kota Kinabalu & Brunei. Hopeffully there will be in other parts too.
Till then,

11. Movies
Today I spent a quiet day at home.
For the last couple of months I am addicted to movies, any movies be it on tv, Malay or English, on cinemaplex or cds or dvds.
I love murder solving mysteries movies. One example is 'Midsomer Murders'. Every Friday evenings I will be in front of my tv watching this movie series at 9pm on Channel 702.
Midsomer Murders is a British Television drama that has aired since 1997. A detective drama, it focuses on the main character of Detective Chief Inspector Tom Barnaby played by John Nettles and his efforts to solve the various crimes that take place in the fictional English county of Midsomer. It is based on a series of crime novels by the author Caroline Graham and was origionally adapted by Anthony Horowitz.

10. RonaRoni Makaroni
Today is like any other day except it rained and rained non stop. Most of the time I and Alif stayed upstair in my room.
I still feel tired. And I missed my drama series at channel 104. One of my favourites, it's called 'Roni Rona Makaroni' starred by Sharifah Amani & Bront Palarae. I think she's cute and has talent. Btw, it is in Malay, our Bahasa Melayu in Malaysia.
This is one of the latest video on YouTube that I could find :)

9. Tired
Aahh... I do feel tired today. I have not enough rest since coming back from the hotel. I remembered I came upstair at 9pm instead of usually at 8pm. Mainly due to housework in the kitchen.
The afternoon that I came back I was immediately in the kitchen, cleaning dirty pots and scrubbing the sinks. Really I didn't have to think about these when I was in the hotel, in fact I forgot about housework at all lol...
Today it rained again. Earlier in the afternoon I went downtown with Aya & Alif to buy a new litterbin for Wiwi.
We came home about 6pm. Late because we got stuck in the traffic jam.

8. Two Nights at Marriot & Spa
This is going to be quite a long post :p because I've lots to tell and post some pictures.
I am just back from Marriot & Spa, Miri. If you read in my last post I said I'll be staying there for a night but instead I stayed two nights. I like the atmosphere there, cosy and friendly and especially the cosy bed.
Entrance of the Marriot & Spa, Miri.
View from the room I stayed in
Now, inside the room it looks like this, as I entered the door I saw a LSD tv
Next to it a writing table
On it a basket of these snacks but if I eat any of them I have to pay :)
Next to the writing table is this sliding door which leads to the balcony
At the balcony I find this table with 2 chairs where I can read or just sit down
If I peep down from the balcony I see these trees and the path that leads to the swimming pool
And these 2 queen beds are the cosy beds that I was talking about!
Next to the bed a tray of fruits to welcome me
I stayed for 2 nights, on the 1 February and 2 February. Alif, my grandson was with me on the 2nd February during the day. I couldn't resist taking this picture of him while he napped on my bed.
Afternoon nap...
After he woke up from his nap I walked him around the hotel and to the swimming pool...
I ordered a drink called 'Cinderella',introduced by Abu Bakar the bartendar at the 'Matahari Pool'. This drink consists of orange juice, some lemon juice plus a bit of soda and another juice ( I can't remember the name).
And ate this 'Steak Caesar Wrap'
With some chilli & tomato sauces or Tabasco...
Now, isn't that icecream looks huge? It's one of the Haagens Daz icecream, I forgot the name but there was come cheese in it. And it's yummy.
I bought this from 'The Loft' costs RM9.80 per cone.
Some room service food I ordered are like,
this 'Seafood Noodles',
& the 'Marriot Beefburger'
The beef inside it was so thick I could not finish it,
Overall it was a good and relaxing stay for me. I checked out of the hotel at 1230pm on the 3 February.

7. Yesterday
Yesterday was a longgg...day for me! I went out the whole afternoon and came back in the evening.
I went to 'Dewie Saloon' At Bintang Plaza to trim and dye my hair. I can see the white hairs everywhere and I'd like to cover it up and have a new look. And a new look I did have! My hair dyed with 'Deep Bronze Copper' color it looks sort of more reddish in the room light after the lady wash and blow it.
I'll let you take a peep.
There! lol...
I like it, it was worth the long wait at the saloon as there were a few ahead of me. By the time I was out of there it was already almost 6pm and I was hungry.
I went to the nearest cafe 'Mahyan Cafe' to eat something. I went there for 2 reasons, one it is quite cheap, not plenty of people at that time and two because the 'mee jawa' there suits my taste. They put some 'satay gravy' and 2 sticks of 'satay' in it too.
Have a look!
And I drank Nescafe 'Tarik'. That means after making the hot nescafe drink, the lady who prepares will pour the drink from one container to another then back again to the same container so as to get the foam at the top of that glass later. It tastes good too :)
Okay, after feeling full I drove to the Imperial Mall, there was a pharmacy shop nearby it that I wanted to go but it was closed. So I went to the Mall to get some medications from another pharmacy shop there. Then lastly I went to the basement to buy some groceries before heading home at 7pm.
I was feeling very tired, so did not come online last night.
But right now, I am feeling fresh once more and feeling excited because right now I am about to check in at Marriot & Spa hotel to stay there for a night. This on courtesy of Nono for my wedding anniversary for tomorrow the 2 February. She is working there so has some discounts due whenever she stays or eats there.
So I am going to the hotel at 2pm. I am so excited to be able to relax and have time of my own.
I'll let you know more and how things goes in my next post.
