366. Dream
Hubby & me have been dreaming to get a second car...no, no, not a big car...only this...
Perodua Viva Elite 1000cc but color should be Pearl Jade
He he...don't get excited, the above isn't ours but one in the car showroom ok?
I told hubby I'd STILL like to drive a small car, with power steering. 1000cc would be good as petrol is expensive and only one of us is working.
I think Viva Elite looks cute with sports rims :)
What do you think?
p/s You can read more about this car & public comments here.

365. Umai and a Simple Soup
My SIL brought back a lot of fresh 'Ikan Tenggiri' (Mackerel) which he caught while he was offshore in the oil rig. So I made 'Umai Ikan Tenggiri' .
Have you ever tried it?
'Umai' is also called 'Kerabu' because the flesh of the fish is not cooked, everything is raw put together.
Umai Ikan Tenggiri
Unlike my 'Umai Ikan Yu' in my previous post, this time I decided to add some 'Asam Paya' (Asam Rumbia) to the preparation.
Asam Paya (Asam Rumbia)
Preparation :-
1. Cut flesh of Ikan Tenggiri into small pieces, then clean over running water then drip dry in a sieve.
2. Cut 15 of those Asam Paya throwing away the skin & seeds.
3. Pound 4 - 5 big red chillies.
4. Slice thinly 3 " ginger, 5 - 6 small red shallots and 5 garlic.
5. In a big bowl, mix well items 1, 2, 3 & 4.
6. Cut 20 - 25 limau kasturi ( local lime) into halves and squeezed the juice into the bowl.
7. Add 2 tablespoons of vinegar.
8. Add salt and a little ajinomoto.
9. Mix well and taste. It should be more sourish and salt to taste.
10. Keep refrigerated.
Next is such a simple dish. I have some 'Salai' (smoked) anchovies(ikan bilis) in the fridge and one small pineapple.
So I cooked a soup out of these two.
Sup Bilis Salai dengan Nenas
Preparation :-
1. Boil half a liter water in a pot.
2. Skin and slice the pineapple.
3. 8 Ikan bilis salai (smoked anchovies) OR you can use smoked 'Ikan Tahai'.
4. When the water boils, add in item 2 & 3.
5. Add in grounded 3 small shallots, 2 garlic & 2 big red chillies.
6. Add salt and ajinomoto to taste.
7. Serve hot with rice.
Easy?
Happy trying and a lovely weekend :)

364. Brisk Walk at Outdoor Stadium
Yesterday evening around 4pm, hubby said to me,' Come with me to the Stadium, I jogged and you can brisk walk. Do slowly.'
So I thought why not, even though still feeling not so well with this cough and flu I do need some fresh air.
So we went. Biking to the Outdoor Stadium Miri on his Modenas clumsy bike he he...
It was the first time after a long time I had been to the Outdoor Stadium. Usually if both of us did go, hubby will leave me to brisk walk at the City fan while he proceeds to the Stadium. He said he prefers going there for his jog. So this time I decided to follow him there.
It's not so bad brisk walking there. I like the atmosphere, not too many people and not too much noise or chatters from other people.
We just do our own thing. And no one bothers what the other person is doing.
I think not many people go there because the public aren't sure if the Stadium is for the public to use. Funny eh? :)
I saw many Secondary students doing their school sport activities there, like training the 100 meters run, high jump or shot put.
I said to myself,' This is great. These students are such good example to those students who spend their time 'lepak sana sini.'
Anyway, back to me, I managed to brisk walked 3 rounds the track while hubby jogged. After finished with brisk walking I took some pictures to share with you all.
Outdoor Stadium Miri . At the bottom of this picture (which you ain't able to see) is the entrance into the stadium.

He he...guess who is jogging ? :)
Finished with his 6 rounds he stopped to do some sit ups
We were there until 530pm. When we were leaving there were some young men who arrived to play football.

Next to this Outdoor Stadium lies the Indoor Stadium Miri, which is newer and more frequent by people because activities like concerts, IT roadshows etc., are held there.
Nowadays this Outdoor Stadium are mostly used by schools to hold school sports or other school activities.
Still, a re painting of the Outdoor Stadium would be good and moral lifting :)

363. Not Well
I am not feeling very well these last 2 days. Having bad flu and cough. Urrghh..I hate it when I got sick. Something tells me I got it from Aya who have it for the past 3 or 4 days. Right now I am sucking some 'Strepsils' which lessen the irritations in my throat.
When I get sick I know I will be sick for at least a week or over a week. So yesterday I quickly went to 'Permaisuri Pharmacy' to buy myself some antibiotics and 'Clarinase' for my bad nose. The 'Clarinase' helps a lot with my flu. Before taking it my nose was simply dripping. So tiresome!
My as for now medications
It was already 430pm when I came out of the pharmacy. I need to drink and eat something before taking the medications and the sooner the better. Luckily Noormy called up asking where I was and when she knew, decided to join me at a shop. I suggested 'Awang Mahyan's Cafe' but then changed my mind. In the end I drove to 'Warung Puteri'(you can view the shop in my previous post).
And as soon as our orders came I immediately ate and shared all these with Noormy.
These came from a stall just next to our table (at the front side of the shop). These are fried chicken wing, fried 'cucur Sayur' and 'pisang goreng'. And still hot too!
Eat them with this sauce. They modified and add some grounded peanuts in it...he he just like the 'Rojak' gravy I am selling :p
The Sauce, very tasty
I ordered fried noodles and drank a glass of hot tea
Noormy ordered fried 'Kueyteow' and she drank 'Teh Special'
Free bowl of hot soup, a so very simple soup but nice feeling as it runs down my coughy throat.
I felt much better after eating. I didn't realized I was that hungry.
I took my medications immediately afterwards.
Three things I must have when I am sick. One is Food. And then followed with plenty of rest and plenty of sleep.
Anyone who is unwell should do those 3 things to get well as quickly as possible.
Cheerio.

362. Lazy Sunday Cooking
Today was a lazy day for me, still is... because it is a Sunday! :)
So when I am lazy, I will tell my children I am 'mogok' ( on strike) from cooking ha ha...
I was kidding of course. My mouth said so, but still I cooked. Just simple dishes. And whatever I can find in the fridge.
Earlier this evening I cooked these chicken breast, that fleshy part you can find in a chicken. These fleshy part were from the previous chickens that I cooked. Usually I cut and kept the fleshy parts in a plastic bag and kept it in the fridge but cooked the rest of the parts of the chicken. Get what I mean? These fleshy parts memang tak laku :) My children prefer the boney parts ha ha... so sayang wasted ... I go and cook it today. Cooked it with some dark soy sauce.
Soy Sauced Breast of Chicken
Preparation & Cooking :-
1. Cut and sliced the breast of chicken flesh into small pieces. Washed and drip dry in a sieve.
2. Sliced 2 small shallots, 2 garlic, 2 " ginger and 1 red cili.
3. Sliced 1 lemon grass bulb into 3 pieces.
4. In a small pot, saute the ingredients (2) & (3) until aromatic.
5. Add in the sliced flesh of chicken.
6. Add 1 cup of water.
7. Add 3 - 4 tablespoons dark soy sauce (ketchup).
8. Stir well and let the chicken cooked over a moderate fire.
9. When cooked, add salt and ajinomoto to taste.
My vegetable dish for today was 'Sayur Peria' (bitter gourd) , something that Noormy, Zu, Farouk & my SIL would not eat :p 'Bitter' they say...
Sayur Peria
Preparation & Cooking :-
I cut and sliced these bitter gourd early this morning but cook them later in the evening. After cutting them I soaked them in a basin of water with some salt in it. That would lessen the taste of bitterness when they are cooked.
1. Before cooking, washed the soaked cut 'sayur peria' with water and dry them in a sieve for 15 minutes.
2. Saute grounded 2 small shallots, 2 garlic and 1 - 2 red chillies.
3. Stir well until aromatic.
4. Break 2 fresh eggs in.
5. Stir well then add in the cut bitter gourd.
6. Stir well under moderate fire.
7. Add salt and ajinomoto to taste.
8. Serve hot.
Have a lovely Sunday Evening!

361. She's 21
She's 21 years old! My goodness! how time flies! and she's my youngest amongst the four of my children, jewels of my life :)
Yesterday evening was her birthday. We had 'Steamboat' again to celebrate her birthday. AT HOME! And things went so well :)
She wanted 'Steamboat' so 'Steamboat' was what she got!

She wanted 'Steamboat' so 'Steamboat' was what she got!
Just starting to do the favorite part, grilling!
Grilled stuffs, ready to eat!
With her elder sister (they are 9 years apart) :)
Eldest sister, Zu who was responsible for the Steamboat :p
With her big brother Farouk
Sigh..looking at them joking and laughing really made my heart sings with joy and happiness. I can still visualize looking after them when they were babies, toddlers and then growing up being teenagers.

No regrets, they make me alive. I am thankful I am still able to spend time with them till to this day.

360. Sushi
I am not really a fan of 'Sushi' but my 3rd daughter Aya is. And she doesn't like eating alone. That's why I accompanied her to the 'Sushi King' at Bintang Mega Mall.
With not much to do but sit to wait for the different 'Sushi' plates to go round and round us before we pick the one we want to eat, I took the opportunity to snap some photos.
So just please enjoy the pictures and don't ask me what are their Japanese names :)
This one is boiled egg with some cheese over it. Very filling.
Balls of minced potato and some celery
Salmon
Rice with Cheese
Eel with rice. Very nice
Jellyfish
Deep Fried Prawns
Cheese again with Rice
Scallop
Chinese Tea
Delicious Vanilla Shake
Overall, surprisingly I enjoyed eating the Sushi this time. Perhaps I was hungry :)
Do you eat Shushi?
Cheerio.
