89. Remembering Michael Jackson

CNN - 'Entertainer Michael Jackson died after being taken to a hospital on Thursday having suffered cardiac arrest, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner's office.

Paramedics took Jackson, 50, from his west Los Angeles home Thursday afternoon to UCLA Medical Center, where a team of physicians attempted to resuscitate him for more than an hour, said brother Jermaine Jackson. He said the famed singer was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. PT.

An autopsy is scheduled Friday, he said. Results are expected Friday afternoon, according to Lt. Fred Corral of the Los Angeles coroner's office, who also said Jackson was unresponsive when he arrived at the hospital.

Fire Capt. Steve Ruda told CNN paramedics were sent to a west Los Angeles, California, residence after a 911 call came in at 12:21 p.m.'

It was on Friday afternoon around 3pm that I read about this famous pop idol Michael Jackson's death. I was stunned when I read it in the internet. It was my usual time to come online each day (if I could) to read the latest news online and check my emails. That Friday I was too stunned I forgot to finish checking my emails. Really it was a shock to find a person still young and who had been my great music idol dead.

Remembering Michael Jackson, I love his music just like I had loved Elvis Presley's music. I remember in my young days I was crazy going to their movies and writing down the lyrics of every songs these 2 great singers sings in my notebooks. Everywhere I go I have their song tapes with me. It was really a 'Jackson Craze' for me and my friends.

I don't know how many times we went to see his movies epecially 'Thriller' and watched his unique dance moves. I think his songs like 'Beat It', 'Smooth Criminal', 'Billie Jean' were some of the greatest songs and which have sold millions of copies around the world.

88. Springcleaning?

Actually I am dead tired. I had been going out for the last 2 days, yesterday and today. Oh nowhere special, just been wandering around at Bintang Mega Mall, since the new wings were filled with so many shops there are so many things to see and window shop, and eat!

So I was out from 6pm till 10pm this evening. Can you imagine how my feet feels? Arrggh that soreness... & I almost go into last night reflexology shop to have my feet massage this time but no I didn't go in he he...

I am the type who can't go out without leaving the house clean. This time I made it a point to do some spring cleaning in my bedroom. Doing dusting and rearranging my books. I owned a row of books which I placed at the head of my bed, as you can see in the picture below.

I am pleased to see they are dusted and arranged.

Having my books all arranged next I turned to my corner where I placed my minibar and tv. I have them all arranged and wiped cleaned with a wet cloth.

Next I cleaned my precious laptop and my Altec Lansing speakers ha ha...

Last but not least I cleaned the first desktop computer that I ever owned, a LIKOM monitor & CPU.

Ahh..Now my room looks better and cleaner, I could go out with a relaxed mind.

And I did.

87. Low

I don't know if the picture up here can make you smile but I did, maybe just a little but it helps as I am at this moment feeling kind of low. For no particular reasons, this feeling of lowliness just creep in. I do hope this feeling will go away soon.

I hope this helps to make me feel better so I've made plans for tonight. I am picking Aya at 930, so I will go out from the house at 715, drop by at the Reflexology to have my arms and hands massaged for an hour, then off to Bintang Mega Mall to have my favourite 'Spaghetti Curry Laksa' at the Secret Recipe. On my way to meet Aya I'll stop to buy some 'Durian Puffs' at the Taste Better.

Hope that helps.

And hope that picture helps you too!

86. Taste Better

'Taste Better' is a francise eating outlet at the ground floor at Bintang Mega Mall, Miri. This evening I bought their 'Durian Puff' for the first time. They were delicious! And I am a great durian lover.

This was how they assambled the empty puffs in the showcase cabinet. The lady took one puff and inject the durian filling into it.

Like this

They served the durian filled puffs in a plate like this, 6 puffs for RM5.50

And if you want to take away, for the same amount and for the same price they will pack them for you in a cute plastic bag like this.

For those durian lovers, try it! They are really yummy and oh so delicious!

85. A New Addition

On Father's Day I went to 'V Pet Shop' to get Wiskas & Cat's litter sand for Wiwi. I asked the lady whether she still have the Siamese cats that I saw the other day. She said all were sold but do I want a free cat? I asked where and she said have a look outside in the cage, there were 2. So I went outside to look and my eyes caught immediately at one of the cats which has big round grey eyes. It was a 'he' and it's an ordinary cat, not Siamese or Persian either.

I asked the lady how old was the cat colored white & yellow but she didn't really know the date of birth and said the owner asked her help to give away the cats, that was all.
I have no intention of getting an ordinary cat except if it is a Siamese or a Persian breed but this one looks so cute to me.

After a couple of minutes the lady had already packed him in a box for me to carry to my car. That was how this new addition had come about.

It was finally in the car that I decided to call him CEMI, pronounced 'Sammy'.

His eyes are cute aren't they?

Well, except his ears of course lol.... I didn't like them, but that's so okay I think :)

Cemi been with me for 3 days now, and trying to get accustomed to the new environment but he's feeding well.

84. Father's Day

'Any man can be a Father, but it takes a special person to be called Dad'

When small I've never known a Father's love. It was because my parents were divorced when I was 2 years old and when my younger brother was a year old. Then my mother remarried again, so I had a stepfather. I wasn't close with my parents but close with my grandparents, even to the point of calling my grandparents, 'mak' and 'pak' (means mom and dad).
So, I grew up only knowing a grandparent's love.

I feel distressed to see children of divorced parents because I know and understand how these children feel. And I feel proud and happy to see happy married couples who has children stay together overcoming the odds and cons in life.

We often celebrate 'Mother's Day', I think 'Father's Day' is also as important and should be celebrated as much.
I am a Muslim and thinks Mother's Day is a celebration for each mother no matter what religion she belongs to. Because of that, my 4 children has always given me affordable inexpensive presents on a Mother's Day. If they can't the least they did was wish me a happy Mother's Day with a peck on my cheek. I feel their love when they do that.

So what I did today was tell them that they can wish their father a Happy Father's Day and they each did. I can see that made hubby happy :)

Anyway, I bought this for hubby today... a tumbler for his iced water! lol...I know each evening he would fill his old plastic tumbler with water and go to night duty at his Shell Station!

I hope he likes this one :)
It's a Nike Tumbler

Happy Father's Day to all Great Great Grandfatners, Great Grandfathers and Fathers out there!

83. A Day in Wiwi's Life

I took on Wiwi when he was about 2 months old. He is a mixed of his Persian father and Siamese mother, and born on the 28 December 2005.

He used to be such a hyper active cat when he was younger. Now he likes to sit more and be fondled, stroked on his head and feel loved. The pictures in this post are taken yesterday and I noticed he didn't like the camera now, especially when it flashes on his eyes. No matter what I did to try him to open his eyes and look at me, he just wouldn't hence almost all the pictures here were with his eyes closed or with his head turned away he he...

Each morning at 9am I will let him come into my kitchen. Before wandering around he will stop and eat his Wiskas.

He has his fresh water and his litter bin beside it too.

Once full, he will wander to my sitting room. He loves to sit near my main door. He likes the cool cement floor and the breeze that comes through the door.

Thus his many poses, and the most he is willing to open his eyes :)

His other favourite spot is near my black cabinet. He will moved to this spot when he sees that there are too many people coming in and out of my main door.

Around 4 or 5pm I will put him back into his cage which I placed outside my kitchen balcony. There he will settled for the night with fresh food, fresh water and a clean litter bin until I let him out the next morning.

Wiwi is almost 4 years old now. I love him, I hope he has a long life with me.

82. Fishes

Lately we eat a lot of fish in the house. Especially 'Ikan Pasong' like in the picture above and they are fresh too. Others I have plenty in the freezer are 'Ikan Tongkol'. My son in law caught them at sea, from the platform where he is work offshore for the last 2 months.

So lately too I have been cooking 'Ikan Masak Asam Pedas' and 'Kari Ikan' and above it is 'Ikan Goreng'.

Aahh...What bliss...to have fresh fish in our diet ha ha

81. The Best Mee Kolok in Town

Last weekend I craved for this mee so much that Noormy and me shared an extra bowl after each of us eating a bowl of it!

If you happen to be in my hometown, Miri, let me show you where you can find the best 'Mee Kolok' in town. It is one of the SEDC shops nearby the 'Old Tamu' in town. Actually it is a row of old shops and been standing there for quite some years already. But for the Mee Kolok I would go there, sit there, eat and later be in sweat because the shop isn't airconditioned and there are always plenty of people there.

See what I mean? Even the signboard is getting old. And that's the name of the restaurant.

Usually when it was busy time, they has not enough waiter or waitresses but surprisingly last week their service were quick which made me really pleased.

Here's the man who makes the Mee Kolok and his small stall situated in the front part of the restaurant. He was very obliging when I asked to get a picture of him and his stall.

So folks, if you happen to be in Miri, do drop by at this shop and try the Mee Kolok there!
